Anorexia or anorexia nervosa to give it is proper name is a kind of eating disorder but is also classed as a psychological disorder as well. As of yet, no one has determined the cause of the condition but there has been plenty of research into the possibilities. Many specialists feel that it is socially linked where the individuals concerned initially feel compelled to become thin and “attractive”. Some research evidence appears to suggest that a specific area of the brain (the hypothalamus), which is responsible for some metabolic processes is to blame while others suggest that hormone imbalance could be to blame. As things stand though, the jury is still out.

Anorexia
Almost 95% of all anorexia sufferers are female, but as you can see from the figures, males can develop it as well. Normally anorexia starts to make itself apparent in adolescents or during the onset of puberty, but it has been seen in both adults and children as well.
What is quite startling about the condition is the fact that in the so-called countries of high economic prosperity, one in every hundred girls of adolescent age has the disorder. Even more interesting is the fact that anorexia is more prevalent in Caucasians than any other racial background and the middle to higher classes of society.

Motion sickness can also be referred to as travel sickness and is caused by recurring movements when traveling. Symptoms of motion sickness include, feeling sick, headaches, light headedness or perspiration. The reason for these symptoms occurring is down to the brain receiving mixed messages from what your eyes are seeing outside the mode of transport compared to the messages being sent by the inner ear when these bumps are felt. Motion sickness can also occur when trying to read while traveling.
Motion sickness can be quite frequent in children but luckily many find this can disappear as they get older. Some people are more prone to motion sickness and can also develop similar symptoms on fairground attractions, particularly those which involve spinning around. Most sufferers find that the symptoms will disappear once they have completed their journey or finished their fairground ride; for the unlucky few, symptoms can last for a few hours or even longer.
There are some ways to avoid motion sickness symptoms such as sitting in the front of a car or if in the back usually sitting by the window with the window open can help. It can also help to sleep or just keep eyes closed. It can also help to keep to simple foods before traveling to avoid nausea. There are also over the counter medicines which can help to prevent or reduce the symptoms of motion sickness. These types of medicines are best taken before traveling but can also help if taken during the journey. Some medicines for motion sickness can cause drowsiness so it is recommended not to drive or work with heavy machines.

Sinusitis affects the cavities inside the cheekbones and forehead. It usually develops after a cold or flu and clears up on its own. This is known as acute sinusitis. Chronic sinusitis however is less normal and lasts much longer. The sinuses become swollen and other symptoms include pain over the area as well as a high temperature and a blocked or runny nose. As well as having pain in the sinuses, there are other symptoms of sinusitis which may be present including headache, cough, tiredness or a feeling of unwell. Painkillers can be used to treat the symptoms or a doctor may prescribe antibiotics.
Viruses that cause the cold or influenza virus can spread to the sinuses causing sinusitis. It can also be caused by a bacterial infection. There are also several factors which can cause a person to be more susceptible to sinusitis such as, asthma or hay fever, smoking, weakened immune system, allergies, facial surgery, pregnancy, or an infected tooth.

Sinusitis
Most cases of sinusitis will clear up by itself but antibiotics may be needed for more severe cases. Painkillers can help to ease the pain associated with sinusitis. Nasal sprays can help to unblock the nose and help make breathing easier but should not be used for more than seven days at a time.
In order to prevent sinusitis there are a number of things that can be done including, getting plenty of exercise, eating a well balanced diet with lots of fruit and vegetables, drinking plenty of water, keeping stress levels to a minimum and even having a flu vaccination annually.
