Ziprasidone Hcl

Commonly Prescribed for: Ziprasidone Hcl is used to alter chemical affects in a patient’s brain in an attempt to treat mental disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

How to take it: You can consume Ziprasidone Hcl in two ways: in capsules or by injection.  Capsules should be consumed with food with a recommended dosage of 20mg at the start of your treatment, your doctor will up this dosage as they see fit. Injections should only be implemented by intramuscular injection. To prepare the injection you add 1.2ml of sterile water to the vial and shake with vigor and force until all the Ziprasidone has been dissolved. After this has been done every 0.5ml of reconstituted solution represents 10mg of Ziprasidone. Administer as prescribed.

How it Works: Ziprasidone Hcl effectively blocks serotonin and dopamine, two chemicals in your brain, and alters the chemical balance. By adding more serotonin and norepinephrine into your brain cells Ziprasidone Hcl has been proven to improve the patients state of depression.

Some Side Effects: Serious effects which require urgent or immediate attention include: breathing difficulties, chest pain, dizziness, confusion, agitation and penis erection that is unnaturally painful. Less serious effects of the drug include: weight gain, headaches, loss of appetite, vomiting and muscle pain.
