Zestril

Other Names: Lisinopril, Prinivil

Commonly Prescribed for: Zestril is prescribed by doctors to treat both high blood pressure and congestive heart failure.

How to take it: If you are a patient that suffers from uncomplicated hypertension then a daily dosage of 10mg is advised. Dosage however should be adjusted and attuned to blood pressure response on the advice of your doctor.
For more serious conditions, and if you are on a diuretic, then the diuretic should be halted 2 or 3 days before your course of Zestril is due to begin. However if the Zestril does not have the desired effect of controlling blood pressure then a diuretic may also be required in conjunction with a dosage of Zenstril. Zestril should be taken with a full glass of water.

In addition to this it can also be used in the immediate aftermath of a serious heart attack in order to reduce the risk of another one occurring.

Some Side Effects: Severe stomach pain and the inability to breathe are two severe forms of side effects that stem from taking Zestril. In these cases it is important to seek emergency medical help. Common side effects of which medical help is not always necessary include: coughing, dizziness, tiredness, headaches and vomiting.
