Commonly Prescribed for: The most widespread use of Zebeta is to control and manage hypertension/high blood pressure.

How to take it: There is no general usage for Zebeta as each dosage needs to be taken related to individual circumstance and need. However the usual starting off dosage of Zebeta is more often than not 5mg per day. Again it is not uncommon for some patients to receive a dosage of 10 mg when starting the course of this drug. Only your doctor should advise you on what amount to take.

How it Works: Zebeta is a beta-blocker. What it does is help control the flow of blood through your arteries to assist lowering the pressure as it flows to and from your heart. It should be noted however that Zebeta does not ‘cure’ high-blood pressure but rather it merely manages and controls it to an acceptable level. If you start to feel well during a course of Zebeta you should continue until your doctor advises otherwise.

Some Side Effects: Zebeta should be avoided if you have any serious heart conditions or are, indeed, allergic to bisoprolol. If you suffer from any of the following you should notify your doctor before being prescribed Zebeta: Asthma, Bronchitis, Diabetes, Liver or Kidney disease or a thyroid disorder. Serious side effects consists of face swelling, hives, unable to breathe or difficulty in breathing, or swelling of the throat. If any of these problems appear you should seek medical attention at once. Less serious side effects can include insomnia, feeling of tiredness, dry mouth, vomiting, nausea, joint or muscle pain and anxiety. You should get in touch with your GP if these problems persist.
