Commonly Prescribed For: Trimox is an antibiotic prescribed to treat different types of infection like respiratory tract infections, gonorrhea, genital infections, bladder infections, middle ear infections, urinary tract infections and skin infections. Trimox may be combined with other another drug named Clarithromycin to treat duodenal ulcers due to H. pyroli bacteria.
How to Take it: You can take Trimox either with food or without food. Shake the Trimox liquid well before using it. Use a marked medicine cup to take the suggested amount of dosage. It is available in tablet form. You can chew the table before swallowing it. It is recommended not to take two dose at the same time.
How it Works: Trimox is a penicillin antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria. Trimox also prevents a type of herpes infection from occurring.
Some Side Effects: Trimox leads to side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, hairy tongue, vaginal discharge, and thrush and stomach pain. Some serious side effects include easy bruising, seizure, fever, urinating less than usual, sore throat, flu symptoms, agitation, low fever, weakness, confusion, body aches, dark urine and red skin rash.
