Tetracycline
Other Names: Achromycin V, Ala-Tet, Panmycin, Sumycin.
Commonly Prescribed For: Tetracycline is an antibiotic normally prescribed for treating different types of bacterial infections like Chlamydia, urinary tract infections, typhus fever, amoebic infections, tick fevers, pneumonia and gonorrhea.
How to Take it: Take Tetracycline tablets an hour prior or two hours after eating with a glass of water. Tetracycline oral suspension should be shaken before drinking.
How it Works: Tetracycline works by stopping the bacteria from synthesizing proteins, resulting in its death.
Some Side Effects: Tetracycline leads to certain side effects like headache, anemia, and painful swallowing, blurred vision, loss of appetite, blood disorders, vision disturbance, diarrhea, hives, vomiting, anal sores or rash, rash, dizziness, nausea, inflammation of lower bowel and sensitivity to light.
