Starlix
Other Names: Nateglinide.
Commonly Prescribed For: Starlix can be used alone or combined with other medications for treating type 2 diabetes (a condition where the body doesn’t make use of insulin normally, thereby cannot control the quantity of sugar present in the blood). It is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Starlix is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication can be taken 3 times everyday. Take this medication half an hour before taking meals. Take Starlix as prescribed.
How it Works: Starlix belongs to a group of drugs known as meglitinides. This medication works to reduce the quantity of glucose by stimulating the ability of pancreas to release insulin.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include dry mouth, shakiness, hunger, dizziness or lightheadedness, pale skin, sweating, weakness, nervousness or irritability, tingling in the hands, sudden changes in behavior, decreased consciousness, and upset stomach and vomiting, and breathe that smell fruity. Some serious side effects include headache, confusions, seizures, flu-like symptoms, nasal congestion, cough, runny nose, constipation, and joint aches.
