Commonly Prescribed For: Sorbitrate is generally prescribed for treating and preventing chest pain. It is commonly used with other medications.

How to Take it: Sorbitrate is available in the form of a tablet, capsules, and as chewable tablets to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken five to ten minutes before physical activity to prevent anticipated pain. Do not chew or crush the tablets, instead swallow the capsules entirely. Take this medication as prescribed.

How it Works: This medication works to widen the blood vessels so that blood flows more easily. This will lower the blood pressure, thereby reducing the burden of heart to pump more hardly.

Some Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, restlessness, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, lightheadedness, and feeling of warmth. Some serious side effects include blurred vision, nausea, dry mouth, rash, skin rash, trouble breathing, and itching, inflammation.
