How to Take it: Sodium Bicarbonate is available in the form of a tablet, and as powder to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken once or four times every day. It must be taken one to two hours after taking meals, if you are using this medication as an antacid. Take this medication as prescribed.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include increased thirst, gas and abdominal cramps. Some serious side effects include severe headache, blood in the urine, nausea, black or tarry tools, loss of appetite, and inflammation of the feet, irritability, slow breathing, and weakness.
