How to Take it: Halicon which comes in the form of a tablet is generally taken by mouth just before bedtime. The medicine works best when it is taken just before sleeping with or without food.

How it Works: Halcion, which belongs to the benzodiazepine family of drugs, is responsible for enhancing the effect of the naturally occurring chemical called GABA. This chemical has a calming effect and thereby stopping various nerve signals. This will reduce the anxiety, cause sleepiness and relax all the muscles.

Side Effects: Drowsiness, dizziness and headaches.
