Commonly prescribed for: Rulide is generally prescribed for treating different types of bacterial infections, such as acute bronchitis, soft tissue infections, acute pharyngitis, skin infections, impetigo, pneumonia, and tonsillitis. This medication can also be used for treating mild to moderate infections of throat, ears, skin, respiratory tract, and genitor-urinary tract infections caused due to susceptible strains of organisms.

How to take it: Rulide is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. Nearly 150 mg of this medication is normally taken two times every day, on an empty stomach. Take this medication as prescribed.

How it works: Rulide belongs to a group of drugs known as macrolide antibiotics. This medication works to kill or thwart the growth of bacteria that causes the infections.

Common side effects: Common side effects include nausea, malaises, vomiting, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, hallucinations, sore and itchy vagina, loss of appetite, flatulence, altered taste, oral thrush, sore tongue or mouth, tiredness, ringing in the ears, moniliasis, urticaria, abgioedema, and rash. Some side effects include severe abdominal cramps, severe skin rash, watery and severe diarrhea, asthma, difficulty breathing or swallowing, and inflammation of the face and tongue.
