Rivastigmine

Commonly Prescribed For: Rivastigmine is generally prescribed for treating dementia in people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. This medication can also be used for treating dementia in patients with Parkinson’s disease. It can also be used sometimes for treating Lewy body dementia. Rivastigmine is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Rivastigmine is available in the form of a capsule, and a liquid to be taken via mouth This medication is normally taken two times every day along with meals in the dawn and in the evening.
How it Works: Rivastigmine belongs to a group of drugs known as cholinesterase. This medication works to increase the quantity of some natural substance present in the brain, hence improves mental health.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, confusion, vomiting, difficulty falling asleep, and loss of appetite, increased sweating, heartburn or indigestion, tremor, stomach pain, lack of energy, weight loss, extreme tiredness, diarrhea, headache, constipation, gas, and dizziness. Some serious side effects include fainting, uncontrollable muscle contractions, black and tarry tools, hearing unusual voices, red blood in stools, aggressive behavior, bloody vomit, anxiety, difficulty breathing, depression, and painful urination.
