Rifater

Other Names: Isoniazid, Nydrazid, INH.

Commonly Prescribed For: Rifater can be used alone or combined with other medications for treating tuberculosis. This medication can also be used for preventing tuberculosis in patients who had some contact with tuberculosis bacteria. It I commonly used with other medications.

How to Take it: Rifater is available in the form of a tablet, and as a syrup to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken once every day, an hour before taking meals or 2 hours after meals, on an empty stomach. Take this medication as prescribed.

How it Works: This medication to eliminate actively growing bacteria.

Some Side Effects: Common side effects include diarrhea, and vision problems. Some serious side effects include eye pain, stomach pains or tenderness, tingling in the hands, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, sore throat, and fever.
