Reglan
Other names: Metoclopramide Oral, Metoclopramide Hydrochloride Intensol.
Commonly prescribed for: Reglan is generally prescribed for relieving nausea, bloating, vomiting, and stomach pin. This medication can also be used for treating slow gastric emptying in patients with diabetes. It can be used for treating heartburn caused due to gastroesophageal reflux in patients for whom other medications failed to work. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to take it: Reglan is available in the form of a tablet and as liquid to be taken via mouth. Take this medication as prescribed.
How it works: Reglan works to increase muscle contractions in upper digestive tract, which helps to fasten the work of stomach to empty into the intestines.
Side effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, diarrhea, restlessness, and constipation. Some serious side effects include involuntary movement of limbs, change sin mood, and spasms of the neck.
