Quetiapine

Commonly prescribed for: Quetiapine is generally prescribed for treating certain symptoms associated with schizophrenia (a mental illness, which causes unusual thinking, inappropriate emotions, and loss of interest in life). This medication can also be used for treating episodes of mania, or depression in people with bipolar disorder. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to take it: Quetiapine is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken 1 to 3 times every day. Take this medication as prescribed, around the same time daily.
How it works: Quetiapine belongs to a group of drugs known as antipsychotics. This medication works to change the activity of some natural substance present in the brain.
Side effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, sore throat, dizziness, excessive weight gain, pain, headache, weakness, stomach pain, dry mouth, and constipation. Some serious side effects include fainting, difficulty breathing or swallowing, seizures, blisters, change sin vision, rash, uncontrollable movements of your tongue, or lips, unusual bleeding or bruising, painful erection of penis, confusion, fever, fast or irregular heartbeat, and muscle stiffness.
