Commonly Prescribed For: Prinivil can be used alone or combined with other medications fro treating high blood pressure. This medication can also be used for improving survival after a major heart attack. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Prinivil is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken once every day. Take Prinivil as prescribed, around the same time daily.
How it Works: Prinivil belongs to a group of drugs known as angiotensin-conversing enzyme inhibitors. This medication works to reduce some chemicals that is responsible for tightening the blood vessels, so that blood can flow more smoothly, thereby allowing the heart to pump blood more efficiently.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include cough, rash, dizziness, and decrease in sexual ability, headache, runny nose, excessive tiredness, sneezing, upset stomach, and weakness. Some serious side effects include inflammation of the face , tongue, hands, or lower legs, chest pain, hoarseness, fainting, difficulty breathing or swallowing, lightheadedness, fever, chills, and yellowing of the skin.
