Prandin
Other Names: Repaglinide
Commonly Prescribed For: Prandin is generally prescribed for treating type 2 diabetes (a condition where the body doesn’t uses insulin normally, hence fails to control the quantity of sugar present in the blood). Prandin is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Prandin is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. The tablets are normally taken half an hour before taking meals. Take this medication as prescribed.
How it Works: This medication works to reduce the quantity of glucose by stimulating the ability of pancreas to release insulin.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include shakiness, clumsy or jerky movements, dizziness or lightheadedness, dry mouth, decreased consciousness, upset stomach and vomiting, breath that smells fruity, hunger, sweating, pale skin, nervousness or irritability, weakness, and tingling around the mouth. Some serious side effects include headache, diarrhea, nasal congestion, constipation, confusion, and joint pain.
