Polycillin-N
Other Names: Ampicillin.
Commonly Prescribed For: Polycillin-N is generally prescribed for treating certain types of infections caused due to bacteria, including urinary tract infections, pneumonia, skin infections, bronchitis, and lung infections. Polycillin-N is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Polycillin-N is available in the form of a capsule, pediatric drops, and as liquid to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken 4 times every day for every 6 hours. Swallow the capsules thoroughly along with water. Take this medication as prescribed.
How it Works: Polycillin-N normally interferes the bacteria’s ability to form cells, which are highly essential for bacterial growth. This medication works to kill the bacteria.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include upset stomach, mild skin rash, and diarrhea. Some serious side effects include severe skin rash, vaginal infection, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing, and wheezing.
