Commonly Prescribed For: Piribedil is generally prescribed for treating cognitive disorders, such as impaired memory and attention. This medication is commonly used with L-dopa therapy to treat certain conditions, including circulatory problems. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Piribedil is available in the form of a tablets, and extended-release capsules to be taken via mouth. A 50 mg dosage of Piribedil is normally taken three times every day for a period of 6 weeks. Take this medication as prescribed.
How it Works: Piribedil belongs to a group of drugs known as piperazine dopamine agonist. This medication works to stimulate dopamine receptors in order to alleviate various symptoms, including tremors.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, night mares, orthostatic hypotension, leg edema, confusion, dyskinesias, constipation, psychiatric symptoms and hallucination.
