Piracetam

Commonly Prescribed For: Piracetam is generally prescribed for treating severe brain disorders, such as cerebro-cranial injury, acute psychic disturbances, and unconscious states due to intoxications. This medication can also be used for treating cerebro-vascular disease, and cortical myoclonia.
How to Take it: Piracetam is available in the form of an injection to be administered as slow intravenous infusion. The recommended dosage of this medication is around 3-12g. Starting dose of 2 tablets is normally taken two times every day. Use this medication as prescribed.
How it Works: This medication works to increase the flow of blood and oxygen consumption by brain cells. Piracetam also improves the function of mediator acetylcholine through muscarinic cholinergic receptors that are often included in memory processes.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include skin rash, shortness of breath, itching, chest pain, hives, increased heart rate, inflammation of the face, or mouth, irregular heartbeat, and tingling sensations.
