Phenergan

Commonly Prescribed For: Phenergan is generally prescribed for relieving symptoms associated with allergic reactions like allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and allergic skin reactions. Phenergan is used along with other medication for treating anaphylaxis. This medication can also be used for preventing and controlling vomiting. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Phenergan is available in the form of a tablet, and a syrup to be taken via mouth. It also comes as a suppository to be used rectally. This medication is normally taken 1 to 4 times every day to treat allergies. It is taken for every four to six hours to relieve cold symptoms. Take this medication as prescribed.
How it Works: Phenergan belongs to a group of drugs known as phenothiazines. This medication works to block the action of some natural substance present in the body.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include diarrhea, itching, drowsiness, stuffy nose, listlessness, abnormally happy mood, difficulty falling asleep, hyperactivity, nightmares, restlessness, dizziness, nervousness, ringing in ears, vomiting, blurred or double vision, and nausea. Serious side effects include wheezing, difficulty breathing or swallowing, fever, sweating, stiff muscles, hives, rash, decreased alertness, abnormal neck position, hallucinations, tongue sticking out, faintness, unusual bruising or bleeding, and confusion.
