How to Take it: Pentoxifylline is available in the form of an extended-release tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken 3 times every day. Do not chew or crush the tablets, instead swallow the tablets entirely. Take this medication as prescribed.

How it Works: Pentoxifylline works to reduce the viscosity of blood, which may allow the blood to flow more smoothly in small blood vessels of your hands and feet.
