How to Take it: Lotensin is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth.  This medication is normally taken once or two times every day, either with food or without food. Take Lotensin as prescribed.

How it Works: Lotensin belongs to a group of drugs known as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors. It relaxes the blood vessels, thereby making them to widen. It decreases the chemicals responsible from tightening the blood vessels, so that blood can flow more smoothly.

Some Side Effects: Common side effects include cough, drowsiness, blurred vision, headache, lightheadedness and dizziness. Some serious side effects include inflammation of the tongue, face, hands or lower legs, fever, hoarseness, sore throat, difficulty breathing, rash, irregular heartbeat, fainting, dark urine, persistent nausea, yellowing of the skin, liver problems, chills and abdominal pain.
