Leflunomide

Commonly Prescribed For: Leflunomide is an oral and disease-modifying medicine, normally prescribed for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Swelling of the joints, one of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis is decreased using Leflunomide by suppressing the action of immune cells, which are responsible for the swelling. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Leflunomide is available in the form of a tablet to take via mouth. It is normally taken once every day.
How it Works: Leflunomide blocks enzymes responsible for abnormal tissue development or growth.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include diarrhea, urinary tract infection, hair loss, flu-like symptoms, headache, muscle pain, dizziness, and itchy skin, vomiting back pain, stomach pain, runny nose, and loss of appetite and mouth sores. Serious side effects include rash increased heart rate and difficulty breathing.
