Commonly Prescribed For: Labetalol Hcl is a prescription medication, normally prescribed for treating high blood pressure (hypertension). Most often Labetalol is combined with another drug named water pills to treat blood pressure. It can also be used for treating chest pain.

How to Take it: Take Labetalol HCL via mouth. It is usually taken two times a day either with food or without food. Continue using Labetalol for a long period of time even if you are feeling well.

How it Works: Labetalol Hcl belongs to a group of medications known as beta-blockers. By lessening workload on the heart, Labetalol reduces blood pressure in your body.

Some Side Effects: Labetalol Hcl leads to certain side effects like fatigue, headache, nausea, leg pain, unusual thirst, decreased male sexual ability, increased urination, scalp tingling and increased sweating. Some serious side effects include irregular heartbeat, easy bleeding or bruising, loss of appetite, mental/mood changes, stomach pain, vision changes, fainting, difficulty in urinating, sore throat, rash, trouble breathing, and severe dizziness.
