Commonly prescribed for: Kenalog is used to reduce swelling, inflammation and redness.
How to take it: It’s important you strictly follow your doctor’s orders on dosages as different people will have different sensitivities. Before applying to children make sure to check as children are especially vulnerable to over dosage which can lead to unwanted side effects. Certain types of kenalog come as a dental paste to treat mouth ulcers but regular kenalog shouldn’t be applied to any orifices or thick surfaces. After applying kenalog make sure you don’t wear tight clothing which will cause more the necessary to absorb into the skin and cause unwanted side effects
How it Works: Kenalog is a steroid which alters chemical compositions in the body to prevent swelling, inflammation and redness. It’s very powerful and should be used sparingly as it can cause serious damage if misused.
Some Side Effects: If any of these symptoms appear hives, difficulty breathing or swelling of lips or eyes then call your doctor and go to the emergency room as these are signs of allergic reaction. Other side effects of kenalog include blurred vision, seeing halos around light, an irregular heartbeat, insomnia and fatigue. Some of the more serious side-effects include thinning of skin, stretch marks or a burning/itching sensation on the skin.
