Keftab
Other Names: Fortaz, Duricef, Mandol, Cefizox.
Commonly Prescribed for: If you’ve recently had surgery you could receive cephalosporins to prevent the possibility of infections. Very powerful and effective at fighting bacteria but useless against colds, flues or common viruses.
How to take it: Keftab can be taken through injection (before or after surgery) but usually is administrated orally as this keeps the hassle down. Depending on the severity and time dosages will go down accordingly. If you miss a dose then take it as soon as possible to keep a consistent amount in your blood. However if it’s close to your next dose then skip the one you missed – don’t double dose.
How it Works: Keftab is a very powerful antibacterial systematic. It’s able to penetrate through bacteria and destroy the cells efficiently and quickly. It’s mostly used in treating growths caused by bacteria and is highly effective.
Some Side Effects: Keftab may cause diarrhea, chest pains, cough, fever, sore throats, ulcers, white spots on lips may occur. Uncommon ones include hives, abdominals pain/cramps, skin rash or pain. Rare side effects include loss of hearing, vomiting, sweating and blistering/peeling of skin.
