Hytrin

Commonly prescribed for: Hytrin is generally prescribed for treating the symptoms associated with enlarged prostate, such as difficulty urinating, painful urination, as well as urinary urgency. It can also be used alone or combined with other medications for treating high blood pressure. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to take it: Hytrin is available in the form of a capsule to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken once every day at night or two times every day, either with food or without food. Take this medication as prescribed.
How it works: Hytrin belongs to a group of drugs known as alpha-blockers. This medication works relaxes the bladder muscles and prostate in order to relieve the symptoms associated with BPH.
Side effects: Common side effects include weakness, tingling in the hands, tiredness, and inflammation of the face, or lower legs, stuffy or runny nose, blurred vision, back pain, decreased sexual ability, and nausea. Some serious side effects include hives, painful erection, rash, rapid or pounding heartbeat, itching, and trouble breathing.
