Commonly prescribed for: Geodon is generally prescribed for treating the symptoms associated with schizophrenia. This medication can also be used for treating episodes of mania or mixed episodes in patients suffering from bipolar disorder. It is commonly used with other medications.
How to take it: Geodon is available in the form of a capsule to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken two times every day along with food. Take this medication as prescribed, around the same times daily.
How it works: Geodon belongs to a group of drugs known as antipsychotics. This medications works to change the activity of some natural substances present in the brain.
Side effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, cough, weight gain, headache, runny nose or sneezing, restlessness, muscle pain, anxiety, loss of appetite, and constipation. Some serious side effects include unusual movements of parts of the body, painful erection of penis, fast or pounding heartbeat, sweating, rash or hives, confusion, and fever.
