Gatifloxacin

Commonly prescribed for: Gatifloxacin is generally prescribed for treating several type of infections. This medication can be used to kill bacteria that are responsible for causing certain types of infections like gonorrhea, urinary tract infections, lung infections, and skin infections.
How to take it: Gatifloxacin is available in the form of an intravenous liquid to be injected with the help of a needle into your vein. This medication is used once everyday. Use this medication as prescribed.
How it works: Gatifloxacin belongs to a group of drugs called as an antibiotic drug. This medication works to inhibit the activity of certain bacteria enzymes.
Side effects: Common side effects include vaginal itching or discomfort, sore throat, stomach pain, chills, loss of appetite, fever, unusual taste, dry skin, heartburn, ringing in the ears, gas, muscle or joint pain, diarrhea, leg cramps, constipation, tiredness, painful urination, and sore throat. Some serious side effects include blisters on the skin, rapid weight loss, itching, decrease in urination, hives, inflammation of the face, lips, hands, or lower legs, dark color urine, difficulty breathing or swallowing, bloody stools, tightness of the throat, tingling in the hands, hoarseness, yellowing of the skin, chest pain, nightmares, fast or pounding heartbeat, anxiety, changes in heartbeat, agitation, fainting, depression, and hallucinations.
