Flunarizine

Commonly Prescribed For: Flunarizine is prescribed for the treatment of migraine headaches.
How to Take It: Flunarizine is usually taken once per day. It is in a tablet form and should be swallowed with water preferably in the evening. You may need to take Flunarizine for six to eight weeks before you notice the full benefits. You should avoid alcohol when taking Flunarizine as it can cause extreme drowsiness if taken in conjunction with alcohol. Try to take your medication at the same time every day. You should take a missed dose as soon as you remember but if it is too near the time of your next dose then skip it and take the next dose at the correct time. Never take two doses together.
How It Works: Flunarizine works by preventing migraines. It helps to reduce the incidence of migraines and can also reduce the severity of attacks.
Some Side Effects: Side effects of Flunarizine can include nausea, anxiety, drowsiness, heartburn, weight gain or dry mouth. More serious side effects can include muscle aches, depression, skin rash, tremors, or difficulty moving. Signs of a serious allergic reaction could include trouble breathing; tightness of the chest; rash; itching; hives or swollen face, lips or tongue.
