How to Take It: Edex is injected directly in the side of the penis. Your doctor should show you exactly how to inject this medication.

How it Works: Edex is a prostaglandin. It relaxes certain muscles and blood vessels to increase the blood flow. When injected in the penis it will increase the blood flow almost immediately and no sexual stimulation is usually needed.

Some Side Effects: Edex may cause pain in the penis, numbness, rash, headaches, dizziness and erections that last more than four hours.
