How it Works: Cyproheptadine belongs to a group of drugs known as antihistamines. This medication works to block the action of histamine (substance present in the body, which causes allergic symptoms).

Some Side Effects: Common side effects include dry mouth, muscle weakness, drowsiness, excitement, dizziness, headache, and chest congestion. Some serious side effects include difficulty urinating, nervousness, and changes in vision.
