Cozaar
Other Names: Losartan.
Commonly Prescribed For: Cozaar can be used alone or combined with other medications for treating high blood pressure. This medication can also be used sometimes for treating congestive heart failure. Cozaar is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Coumadin is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken once or twice every day, either with food or without food. Take Cozaar as prescribed, around the same time daily.
How it Works: Cozaar belongs to a group of drugs known as angiotensin II receptor antagonists. This medication works to block the action of some chemicals, which are responsible for tightening the blood vessels, so that blood can flow more smoothly.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include dizziness, sore throat, and runny nose. Some serious side effects include inflammation of the face, lips, hands, or lower legs, difficulty breathing or swallowing, and hoarseness.
