Clozapine

Commonly Prescribed For: Clozapine is generally prescribed for treating certain symptoms associated with schizophrenia (a mental illness, which leads to inappropriate emotions, unusual thinking).
How to Take it: Clozapine is available in the form of a tablet, and as an orally disintegrating tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is normally taken once or 3 times every day. Take Clozapine as prescribed, around the same time daily.
How it Works: Clozapine belongs to a group of drugs known as atypical antipsychotics. It works to change the action of some natural substances present in the brain.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, restlessness, increased salivation, and dry mouth. Serious side effects include seizures, lack of energy, fainting, flu-like symptoms, loss of bladder control, yellowing of the skin, confusion, upset stomach, changes in vision, loss of appetite, shakiness, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, sore throat, sever muscle stiffness, changes in behavior and sweating.
