Clindamycin
Other Names: Cleocin.
Commonly Prescribed For: Clindamycin is generally prescribed for treating certain kinds of bacterial infections, such as lung infections, infections of the female reproductive organs, and skin infection.
How to Take it: Clindamycin is available in the form of a capsule, and as a liquid to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken 3 to 4 times every day. Take the capsules along with water to treat throat irritation. Take Clindamycin as prescribed around the same time daily.
How it Works: Clindamycin belongs to a group of drugs known as lincomycin antibiotics. This medication works to impede or thwart the growth of bacteria.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, swelling of the vagina, vomiting, think, white vaginal discharge, joint pain, white patches in mouth, and pain when swallowing. Some serious side effects include urinating less than usual, blisters, yellowing of the skin, rash, and difficulty breathing or swallowing.
