Cilostazol

Commonly Prescribed For: Cilostazol is generally prescribed for decreasing the symptoms associated with intermittent claudication (a condition where your leg pain due to walking). This medication can help people to walk a log distance before the leg starts paining. Cilostazol is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Cilostazol is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken two times every day. Cilostazol must be taken at least half an hour before or two hours after taking breakfast and dinner. Take Cilostazol as prescribed.
How it Works: Cilostazol belongs to a group of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 3 inhibitor. It works to widen the arteries, which supply blood to your legs. It reduces the ability of platelets (substances presents in the blood, normally involved in blood clotting) to attach together.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, flu-like symptoms, fast or irregular heartbeats, sore throat, diarrhea, runny nose, dizziness, abnormal stools, and upset stomach. Some serious side effects include rash, shortness of breath, hives, tightness in the chest, unusual bleeding or bruising, irregular heartbeat, and inflammation of the hands, or lower legs.
