Cilexetil
Other Names: Atacand, Candesartan.
Commonly Prescribed For: Cilexetil is generally prescribed for treating high blood pressure. This medication can also be used for treating kidney problems due to type 2 diabetes. It is used for treating heart failure in some patients. Cilexetil is commonly used with other medications.
How to Take it: Cilexetil is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken once or two times every day, either with food or without food. Take Cilexetil as prescribed.
How it Works: Cilexetil belongs to a class of medications known as angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It blocks the action of certain substance present in the body that is responsible for tightening the blood vessels. This medication relaxes the blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include dizziness, runny nose, lightheadedness, sore throat, congestion, sore throat, cough, fever, diarrhea, back pain, and headache. Some serious side effects include inflammation of the face, tongue, or lower legs, rash, difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest pain, tingly feeling and fainting.
