Commonly Prescribed For: Cetirizine is generally prescribed for treating cold or allergy symptoms including sneezing, runny nose, or itching. This medication can also be used for treating itching and inflammation caused by chronic urticaria. Cetirizine is commonly used with other medications.

How to Take it: Cetirizine is available in the form of a tablet, and a chewable tablet to be taken via mouth. Take the medication either with food or without food. Chew and crush the chewable tablet before swallowing.
