Cefuroxime
Other Names: Ceftin, Zinacef.
Commonly Prescribed For: Cefuroxime is generally prescribed for treating certain infections due to bacteria like bronchitis, skin infections, gonorrhea, urinary tract infections, and lymph disease, sinuses, and infections of the throat.
How to Take it: Cefuroxime is available in the form of a tablet, and as a suspension liquid o be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken every twelve hours two times a day for a period of 10 days, either with food or without food. Cefuroxime is normally taken two times every day for a period of 20 days to treat Lymph disease. Swallow the tablets entirely along with water. Take Cefuroxime as prescribed, around the same time daily.
How it Works: Cefuroxime belongs to a group of drugs known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It thwarts the growth of bacteria.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include upset stomach, stomach pain and vomiting. Some serious side effects include severe skin rash, vaginal itching and discharge, itching, painful sores in mouth, hives, diaper rash, and difficulty breathing or swallowing.
