Ceftin

Commonly Prescribed For: Ceftin is used as a treatment to many types of bacterial infections of the ear, lung, throat, urinary tract and skin.

How to Take it: Ceftin comes in tablets and suspension (liquid) both taken orally. It is recommended to take Ceftin with food. Ceftin dosage is generally based on your response to therapy.

How it Works: Ceftin belongs to a class of drugs called as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria in your body. It interferes with the bacteria’s ability to form cell wall allowing the immune system to kill it.

Some Side Effects: Ceftin may cause upset stomach, vomiting, loss of appetite headache, unusual taste, dizziness, sore throat, fatigue, fever and muscle aches. Serious side effects include dark urine, seizures, breathing difficulty, severe drowsiness, itching and jerky movements.
