Cefepime

Commonly Prescribed For: Cefepime is an antibiotic, generally prescribed for treating various kinds of bacterial infections that includes respiratory infections, joint infections, urinary tract infections and other infections. Cefepime is commonly used with other infections.
How to Take it: Cefepime is available in the form of injection that is generally injected into your buttock or hip or injected directly through your vein. This medication is normally given once or two times every day for a period of 30 minutes.
How it Works: Cefepime belongs to a group of drugs known as cephalosporins. This medication works to fight against the bacteria in the body.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, mild itchy rash, pain or tenderness in the injected area, fever, and yeast infection of the vagina, headache, and upset stomach. Some serious side effects include skin rash, pain, unusual bleeding or bruising, swelling, difficulty breathing, redness, hives, drainage, sore mouth or throat, peeling skin rash, irritation, watery or bloody diarrhea, increased or decreased urination, and warmth.
