Bisoprolol

Commonly Prescribed for: Bisoprolol is recorded as one of the beta blockers. It may be used alone or combined with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Sometimes it is also used to treat heart failure.

How to Take It: Bisoprolol is taken orally, usually once a day. It must be taken exactly as prescribed, even if you’ve already felt well before the treatment period is over. More or less than your doctor direction may lead to serious complications such as angina, heart attack or irregular heartbeat. Since it directly effects the heart it’s very important that you maintain the proper dosing standards provided to you by your doctor. Under no circumstances should you double dose.

How It Works: Bisoprolol works by slowing the heart rate and relaxing the blood vessels. As the result, the heart will not get exhausted since it does not have to pump too hard. Yet, Bisoprolol does not cure high blood pressure. And it may take a few weeks to gain its fullest benefits. Bisprolol is simply a way of handling your high blood pressure and preventing it from getting out of hand.

Some Side Effects: Call your doctor if you are experiencing such side effects: excessive exhaustion, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches, runny nose, breathing difficulty, swelling of hands, feet, ankles or lower legs, unusual weight pain, fainting.
