How to Take It: Bicalutamide is orally taken. And it should be restricted to any patient who has hypersensitivity reactions to its use. As with many other medicines it’s very important you keep your dosages very strict. Hormones are very powerful and can create lot’s of tension inside your body. If you miss a dose then try to figure out if it’s closer to your next one, if it is then skip it, if not then take the previous one and continue normal dosing. How It Works: Bicalutamide is a an oral non-steroidal anti-androgen that bind the androgen receptor and prevent the AR activation and subsequent upregulation of androgen responsive genes by androgenic hormones. Bicalutamide also enhances androgen receptor degradation. In laymans terms what Bicalutamide does is block testosterone from being made.
Some Side Effects: Such side effects may occur: reproductive system and breast disorders, breast tenderness, gynaecomastia, hot flushes, gastrointestinal problems, diarrhea, nausea, hepatic changes, asthenia and pruritus.
