Aphthasol

Commonly Prescribed For: Aphthasol is an anti-inflammatory agent, normally prescribed for treating ulcers of the mouth known as canker sores. Aphthasol is commonly used with other medications.

How to Take it: Aphthasol is available as a beige-colored paste. Aphthasol must be used immediately after noticing symptoms associated with ulcer. This medication is generally applied 4 times every day after breakfast, lunch and during bedtime. Take this medication as prescribed.

How it Works: The release of inflammatory mediators is slowed down by Aphthasol. It works by limiting the level of the progression of canker sore. It impedes inflammatory reactions and allows the sores to heal.

Some Side Effects: Common side effects include burning of the skin, nausea, stinging and diarrhea. Some serious side effects include rash, inflammation of the mouth, or tongue, hives, tightness in the chest and itching.
