Amoxyl
Other Names: Amoxicillin.
Commonly Prescribed For: Amoxyl is an antibiotic drug, normally prescribed for treating different types of infections including bladder infections, salmonella, ear infections and pneumonia. Amoxyl is generally combined with another drug called Clarithromycin for treating stomach ulcer due to Helicobacter pylori.
How to Take it: Amoxyl is available in the form of a capsule, a suspension liquid, a tablet, and a chewable tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken two times a day for every twelve hours or 3 times a day for every 8 hours. Chew and crush the chewable tablets before swallowing. Take Amoxyl as prescribed.
How it Works: Amoxyl belongs to a group of drugs known as penicillin-like antibiotics. The abnormal growth of bacteria is stopped by Amoxyl.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include difficulty breathing, inflammation of throat and tongue, and hives. Some serious side effects include fever, nausea, and headache, yellowing of the skin, stomach pain, body aches, and lack of appetite, flu-like symptoms, dark colored stool, chills, dark urine, unexplained bleeding, seizures, infrequent urination, and agitation.
