The nonprescription drug is used to decrease fever and relieves pain from backaches, headaches, toothaches, muscle aches and common cold.

How to Take it: Prescription Advil is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken 3 or 4 times every day for treating arthritis or taken for every four to six years to treat pain. Nonprescription drug is available in the form of a tablet, as drops, and a chewable tablet. Advil can be taken along with food to prevent stomach pain. Take Advil as prescribed around the same time daily.
