Acenocoumarol
Other Names: Sintrom, Sinthrome.
Commonly Prescribed For: It is an anticoagulant drug, normally prescribed for stopping blood from clotting. It is used for treating thrombotic disorders that impedes the flow of blood into the blood vessel. This drug prevents clotting from taking place. Acenocoumarol can be used to treat patients having some disorders like liver disease, blood disorders, heart infection and diabetes.
How to Take it: The usual dose of Acenocoumarol ranges from eight milligram to twelve milligram. Take this medication as prescribed, around the same time daily.
How it Works: Acenocoumarol is commonly called as a blood thinner. It blocks the production of certain chemicals, necessary to form blood clot. This medication works by preventing the existing clot from growing bigger. It helps prevent certain serious problems caused due to larger blood clots.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include allergic reactions, vomiting, fever, vasculitis, gastrointestinal problems, urticaria, hair loss, and skin rash, increased risk of bleeding, skin problems, liver problems and loss of appetite.
