Accupril
Other Names: Quinapril.
Commonly Prescribed For: Accupril can be used alone or combined with other medications for treating high blood pressure. It is used for treating heart failure when used with other drugs.
How to Take it: Accupril is available in the form of a tablet to be taken via mouth. This medication is generally taken once or two time every day. Take Accupril around the same time daily. Take Accupril as prescribed. Continue this medication even if you feel good.
How it Works: Accupril belongs to a group of drugs known as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors. It reduces certain chemicals that are responsible for tightening the blood vessels, so that blood can flow more smoothly, thereby letting the heart to pump blood more efficiently.
Some Side Effects: Common side effects include dizziness, vomiting, excessive thirst and upset stomach. Some serious side effects include inflammation of the throat, eyes or lower legs, fainting, hoarseness, lightheadedness, difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest pain, fever, chills and yellowing of the skin.
