A female condom is a thin pouch or sheath that is worn by a woman during sex. It lines the vagina in its entirety and assists in preventing unwanted pregnancy and STD’s.
To use a female condom, you must first open up the package very carefully. This is to make sure you don’t rip or tear it by mistake. Make sure the condom is sufficiently lubricated and then find a comfortable position to insert it. Ensure the inner ring is located at the closed part of the sheath and then hold it with the open side hanging down. You then have to give the inner ring a squeeze with the forefinger and thumb so that it becomes elongated and narrow, after which you place the inner ring along with the sheath into the vagina’s opening. Push the inner ring gently up into the vagina so you can sense it go up. You then place an index finger into the condom and then prod the inner ring to as far as you can get it. Ensure the condom is straight and hasn’t twisted up inside the vagina and then when this is done, make sure the outer ring is outside the vagina, where it should stay.

The woman has to then guide the penis into the opening of the condom to ensure that it doesn’t slip passed it and go straight into the vagina. Make sure enough lubricant has been used so that the condom remains in place, and be sure that a male condom is not used at the same time as the friction between the two will cause them to break.

A condom is classed as a barrier contraceptive and its job is to block any sperm from fertilizing a female egg. Condoms can be made from latex, lambskin or polyurethane and are known to be approximately 98% effective at preventing pregnancy if used in the correct manner. It has to be pointed out that lambskin condoms have been around for a very, very long time but are still available; they are more expensive than conventionally made condoms and are not as good at preventing STD’s.
For efficient use of condoms, the penis must not touch the vagina before the condom has been applied. The reason for this is because a man does not necessarily need to ejaculate for any sperm to come from his penis; it can happen before as well. The best way to use a condom is to hold the bulb part between the figure and the thumb, ensuring it is the right way round. Make sure there isn’t any air trapped inside and then, while still holding the bulb, place the condom over the erect penis. Then it should be gently rolled down the shaft of the penis (if it doesn’t roll then it has been placed upside down). The condom should be disposed off immediately after ejaculation but before the penis becomes flaccid.

The benefits of condom use include the fact that they are a reliable method to prevent pregnancy, there are very rarely any side effects from wearing one, a lowered chance of an STD transmission, they are easily available and they come in all shapes and sizes (and flavors nowadays).
Disadvantages of condom use include the fact that it can break during sex, they can tear while being taken out of the package and are not compatible with some lubricants.

Obesity occurs when excess weight causes health problems. People with obesity usually have a BMI or Body Mass Index greater than 30. Weight gain is usually caused when energy (calorie) intake is more than calories burnt. There are many risks for people with obesity as it can contribute to an increase in a variety of diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and some forms of cancer. Some people are more prone to weight gain than others and this can be down to genes, however, most people find that obesity is a factor of lifestyle and eating behaviors.
Many people eat when they are depressed, lonely, anxious, stressed or just when they are bored. Obesity is also linked to a lack of physical exercise. In today’s day there seems to be more and more examples of children showing signs of obesity at an alarmingly young age. Schools, parents and government organizations seem to be recognizing the need to encourage children to eat more healthily and to support exercise programs.

There is a higher amount of processed, cheaper foods available on the market today which are higher in sugar, salt, and fat which contributes to the increase in obesity levels among young people. Coupled with the trend for video games and increased numbers of TV channels it is no surprise that more and more young people are being diagnosed with obesity every day.
Diet and exercise are the most important factors when preventing obesity. In order to lose weight people need to reduce daily calories and partake in at least 20 – 30 minutes of exercise daily. Increased fruit and vegetables can help to feel full and reduce the chance of reaching for sugary foods which contain more fat.
